As with a lot of actors, the bug bit me young. I started out in school plays in elementary school, and quickly began taking classes at the local community theatres. I continued on with my obsession through middle and high school, all the way to college where I graduated with a BA in Theatre and a minor in Musical Theatre.
Acting allowed me to travel all across the country, meeting people, learning skills, and, of course, performing. I've been fortunate enough to have studied and performed in New Hampshire, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, back to New York City and, mostly recently, Los Angeles!
Along the way, I've been able to work in film and voice over, as well as study improvisation at the world-renowned iO Theatre in Chicago. I completed the improv training program there, and was placed on a house team after graduation. I've also been able to stretch my legs as a writer, helping to create and perform in original sketch comedy shows in Chicago. After leaving Chicago, I headed to San Francisco, where I was fortunate enough to be part of a production of my favorite Shakespearean comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, followed by work with Virago Theatre Company in Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and Sleeping Beauty or Coma, and found a freaky theatre family with the Thrillpeddlers. I got to perform in their cult classic musical, Pearls Over Shanghai, as well as Shocktoberfest: The Bloody Debutante, and Jewels of Paris. In between Thrillpeddler productions, I performed in two separate productions of Avenue Q, earning a Theatre Bay Area Award nomination for Best Featured Actress for my role in the New Conservatory Theatre's production, as well as winning the TBA Award the following year for Best Ensemble with the production at the Berkeley Playhouse. I then moved back to New York, where I studied improv and sketch writing at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre, created my own original puppetry pieces, and performed across the city, including in art house theatre with drag icon, Rumi Missabu and at the famous Friars Club. I've recently fulfilled every actor's inevitability and moved to Los Angeles, where I've begun auditioning for voice acting and screen roles.
Beyond all that, I'm also currently rolling out the final book in my Magic of the Seasons series, The Harvest Sprites! They're a collection children's picture books about the joys and wonders of the different times of the year, and are being published by Willow Moon Publishing. All four books, including The Fairies of Frost, The Pixies of Bloom, The Sun Gnomes, and The Harvest Sprites, are available now on BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon and IndieBound. Thank you for visiting my site, and I look forward to working with you!
